Yutaka Kaido -------- bass player Yutaka Kaido was born in Tokyo,Japan. He began to play piano at the age of 5, and began to play electric bass at the age of 16. He majored in architecture at the Musashino Art University. And he joined the jazz workshop and began to play double-bass. He learned classical music from Mr. Shigeru Matsuno. He started performance at jazz clubs in 1996. Then, he is performing jazz, popular music and improvised music. [ DISCOGRAPHY is here! ] musical activity Double bass player,composer Yutaka Kaido has performed many kinds of jazz, pop, and improvised music, collaborations with dance, butoh, and visual arts. Yutaka Kaido was born in Tokyo. At the age of 5, he started to study piano. Then he joined Modern Jazz Workshop in art university and began to play double bass. Classical double bass study with Shigeru Matsuno was began on 1998. He won 4 prizes on Yokohama jazz competition as a member of "AAS"(Tachibana quartet) on 2000. He made tour and recording as a member of "Hot Shots" in Los Angeles in the same year. He performed in ISI (Indonesia Institute of the Arts,Yogyakarta), as a member of "epocus" in 2005. And he performed also in the Lembaga Indonesia-Prancis Yogyakarta. On 2008 and 2009, he visited Berlin and had several concerts with German jazz musician. He cooperated in work of compilation CD as solo activity. And an original expression is tried using effectors or without effects in an art festival.
